Exclusive Interview with Ms. Satyam Srivastava, HOD (Footwear) at FDDI

1.What is unique about the curriculum of Footwear Design at FDDI?

The courses in Footwear technology & Management at FDDI are unique of its kind. The programme with structured blending of Design/technical knowledge skill with managerial based specialized  applications in the area of Production management and Productivity, Marketing & Merchandising, Footwear Retailing and CAD-Cam applications on most sophisticated Design Softwares is focused to create high end techno-management professionals for various specialized domains of the Industry.  The Curriculum is based on analytical system of  training where in the entire delivery is ensured at 04 different levels with each level having a defined objective/performance standard and inbuilt highly practical oriented learning with live examples/case studies/Industrial interactions/seminars and workshops and related management tools, facilitating the students to reach the top position in the industry  professionals.

2. Are there any plans to add something new to the existing curriculum?

Yes from this year the intensive/extended module will be added in the area of Sports shoe technology, E-Retailing and Fashion Footwear designing

3.  Are there any changes in the admission procedure for the footwear course?

No. Admission in all the programmes are done through All India Selection Test.

4.  What kind of latest technologies are being used at FDDI to teach this particular course to students?

FDDI has well equipped state-of art workshops and labs in the area of Cutting Manufacturing technology, Closing Manufacturing technology, Component  Manufacturing technology , lasting & Finishing technology along with Productivity lab,  highly specialized Product Development centre quipped with most modern 2D & 3D design softwares , CAD/CAM and  International testing centers  to ensure delivery at par with international standards and specifications.

5.The footwear course is the USP of FDDI. What is the student teacher ratio like in this course? 
  The ratio is 15:1.
